🌴 Is Hervey Bay the Perfect Place to Retire? | Cost of Living, Real Estate & Urangan Pier Tour 🇦🇺 Join us as we explore the beautiful coastal city of Hervey Bay, Queensland, and discover why it has become one of Australia's most popular retirement destinations. Known for its relaxed lifestyle, warm climate, stunning beaches, whale watching, and friendly community, Hervey Bay offers many of the benefits retirees are looking for without the hustle and bustle of the major cities. In this video, we take a closer look at what it really costs to live here, including current real estate prices, dining expenses, and everyday living costs. Median house prices are now generally ranging from around $760,000 to $840,000, while units are typically between $590,000 and $620,000, making Hervey Bay more affordable than many coastal locations in southeast Queensland, although prices have risen significantly in recent years. Casual café meals usually cost between $20 and $30, pub meals range from $25 to $40, and a comfortable dinner for two at a mid-range restaurant is around $100. We'll also visit some of Hervey Bay's top attractions, including the world-famous whale-watching waters, beautiful beachfront esplanades, local markets, marinas, and the gateway to K'gari (Fraser Island). A special highlight is the historic Urangan Pier, stretching almost one kilometre into the bay. One of Australia's longest piers, it is a favourite spot for fishing, morning walks, photography, and watching spectacular sunrises over the water. We'll discuss the advantages of retiring in Hervey Bay, including its laid-back coastal lifestyle, strong retiree community, excellent boating and fishing opportunities, quality healthcare services, and year-round outdoor activities. We also cover some of the potential drawbacks, such as hot and humid summers, limited public transport, and a smaller range of entertainment and shopping options compared with larger cities.
