Beat 90% of fund managers by doing nothing

youtube

You can beat 90% of professional investors by doing nothing. ⠀ No skill, no research, no effort. Just buy a simple index fund and wait. ⠀ Wall Street is full of brilliant managers with huge teams, data and supercomputers. And yet most of them fail. ⠀ Over 15 years, more than 90% of active funds lose to the index. Over 20 years, about 92% fail. ⠀ So why do the pros lose? Two reasons. ⠀ First, the market is brutally efficient. Every piece of news is priced in within seconds, so beating it consistently is almost impossible. ⠀ Second, and bigger, are the fees. Active funds charge high fees every year while an index fund charges almost nothing. ⠀ That gap compounds against the manager, year after year. ⠀ You do not need to be smart. You just need to be patient and cheap. ⠀ I built an app that teaches you exactly how to do this, one concept at a time. Learn finance by scrolling. Link in bio. ⠀ #indexfunds #investing #stockmarket #passiveinvesting #financialliteracy
