Professor Bengt Holmström joined us in the studio to talk about the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank, the UBS take-over of Credit Suisse and a looming financial crisis. People wonder whether other banks are about to fall to and whether their savings are safe. Holmström talks about the situation today, how it compares with the 2008 global financial crisis, policies and trust in the financial system. Bengt Holmström is Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Adjunct Professor at the EUI School of Transnational Governance.
