Should you add solar or square footage to an investment property? Here’s our honest take. Solar — we never do it. The cost simply doesn’t add enough to resale value to justify it from an investor’s perspective. Square footage — it depends. If the value increase warrants it and the area supports it, we’ll look at it. But adding square footage means permitting, construction, and a longer hold time.
