Staying on track to reach financial independence (FI) in our 30s! #investingjourney #sabbatical

Portfolio Reviewyoutube

➡️ We haven’t invested a single dollar over the last 2 years, as we’ve been on a test-drive retirement/sabbatical/gap year! (Outside of reinvested dividends) 😮 Stepping away from investing was scary for us, but since we aren’t withdrawing from our investment portfolio, our portfolio has continued to grow over these last 21 months without investing a dollar more. 🎉 Yay for compound interest at work (even when we weren’t working ourselves)!!! 💰 Building a strong financial base of investments before leaving on our sabbatical was pivotal for our own financial independence retire early (FIRE) journey, and we knew that if we stopped investing so we could travel before reaching FIRE that it would be ok, and that we would still be able to reach FIRE in our 30s thanks to all of our upfront investing and consistency. 🧠 But, one of the hardest parts of taking this sabbatical was the mindset not only behind quitting our jobs and selling all of our things… but the concept that we had to STOP investing! This was hard to overcome. 💰 As people that were very close to reaching full FIRE prior to leaving (we were within a few years if we kept working), we still chose to leave on a sabbatical because we knew life was more than reaching a financial milestone as quickly as possible. We gave ourselves the permission to leave, knowing it would all be ok in the end. ⬇️ Would you stop your investing journey to take a sabbatical? #investing #financialindependence #diewithzero #financialfreedomjourney #personalfinancejourney
