A Home Doesn’t Make You Free. Quite The Opposite
Freedom, to me, is having the ability to choose what I do with my time. A lot of people will conflict their home with chasing the “American dream“ but I have always seen the “American dream“ as a leash and chain.  I’m not saying buying a house is objectively a bad decision, but a lot have equated a necessity purchased through choice with terrible terms to mean freedom, and those aren’t necessarily the same thing. Especially not to me.
