Public Lecture by Prof. Peter J. Boettke (George Mason University, Va, USA) in Vienna, by invitation of the AUSTRIAN INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND SOCIAL PHILOSOPHY: https://austrian-institute.org. The event was organized in cooperation with the Diplomatische Akademie Wien - Vienna School of International Studies and with the support of the Österreichische Industriellenvereinigung (IV). For health reasons, Prof. Boettke could not undertake his journey to Vienna at short notice and therefore gave his lecture via Video Transmission. All other persons, including Prof. Hansjörg Klausinger from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), who engaged in a conversation with Prof. Boettke after the lecture, were physically present in the Kleine Festsaal of the "Haus der Industrie", Vienna, Austria. Camera & PostPro by NTown Productions (Vienna) PETER J. BOETTKE is Vice President for Advanced Study, Director of the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, as well as the BB&T Professor for the Study of Capitalism at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and a University Professor of Economics and Philosophy at George Mason University. He is also non-resident faculty at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien–Vienna School of International Studies. Peter Boettke specializes in Austrian economics, economic history, institutional analysis, public choice, and social change. He has authored and coauthored 11 books, including his most recent, Living Economics, and is editor of the Review of Austrian Economics, series editor of the New Thinking in Political Economy book series, and coeditor of the Cambridge Studies in Economics, Choice, and Society. Peter Joseph Boettke (; born January 3, 1960) is an American economist of the Austrian school. He is currently a professor of economics and philosophy at George Mason University; the BB&T Professor for the Study of Capitalism, vice president for research, and director of the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
