How I’d Invest $200K | Broch Builders Interview
I can't say that building a fourplex is the right move for every investor. For some of them, it might be buying Nvidia. But here's the reality: real estate has proven stable with gradual increase over time, and the returns tend to be pretty good. Stocks — any stock — carry volatility, and honestly, the market feels a little inflated right now. Dave Ramsey says it best: put money in stuff you understand and you're comfortable with. If that's all you ever do, you're going to be fine. But if I had $200,000 and I was 30 years old? Here's exactly what I'd do. I'd buy an existing fourplex. There are older ones in some Calgary communities — a little more rundown, but you can get them for around $800–900K. And because you're going to live in one of the units, you only need 5% down. Now you've got three rental units generating income, plus you own a solid piece of real estate. That's the play. Not flashy. Just proven. 📍 Broch Builders | Calgary #BrochBuilders #RealEstateInvesting #Fourplex #HouseHacking #YYCRealEstate #InvestingTips #Calgary
