About Rebeca Grynspan

Rebeca Grynspan Mayufis (born 14 December 1955) is a Costa Rican economist who has been serving as Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) since 13 September 2021. Grynspan previously served as Ibero-American Secretary General (2014–2021) and as a UN Under-Secretary-General and the Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (2010–2014). She previously served as Director of UNDP's Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, appointed to the position by United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan in December 2005.
