Three months ago SpaceX went public at 1.75 trillion dollars — 94 times its annual revenue — while losing nearly 10 billion dollars a year. Now the next mega IPO is coming. And the financial profile looks completely different. Anthropic — the company behind the AI model Claude — confidentially filed its S-1 with the SEC on June 1 2026, targeting an October Nasdaq listing with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley leading a deal expected to raise over 60 billion dollars. The numbers are unlike anything seen in enterprise software history. Revenue run rate hit 47 billion dollars in May — up from just 9 billion dollars in January. Five times growth in five months. Eight of the Fortune 10 are customers. Claude Code alone is generating 2.5 billion dollars in annual run rate revenue. Anthropic is approaching its first profitable quarter in 2026. The valuation of 965 billion dollars is roughly 20 times its current revenue run rate — expensive, but a fundamentally different story from SpaceX at 94 times revenue with mounting losses. The risks are real too. Compute spend is approximately 19 billion dollars in 2026. Gross margins are currently 40 percent with a target of 77 percent by 2028. And OpenAI filed its own confidential S-1 just days after Anthropic — two direct competitors potentially listing in the same window. One critical warning every retail investor needs to hear. Anthropic has explicitly warned investors against unauthorized pre-IPO share purchases and has sent cease and desist notices to eight secondary platforms. If someone is offering you Anthropic shares before October — be very careful. And if you already own AMZN — Amazon's stake in Anthropic could be worth between 145 and 193 billion dollars at the IPO valuation. You may already have indirect exposure without knowing it.
