The SCHD + DGRO + VYMI Portfolio — Full Dividend Coverage in Three Funds If I was building a dividend portfolio from scratch today I would  use three funds. Together they cover US income, US dividend growth,  and international dividends — the whole picture in one setup. Fund 1 — SCHD (Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF): The income engine. High quality US companies with strong dividend histories. Current yield: around 3.3%. Expense ratio: 0.06%. This is where you get consistent cash flow. Fund 2 — DGRO (iShares Core Dividend Growth ETF): Less about current yield — sits around 2.1%. More about companies growing their dividends year over year. 2025 return: 15.7%. Expense ratio: 0.08%. This is the growth side of the dividend strategy. Fund 3 — VYMI (Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF): High dividend paying companies outside the US. Europe, Asia, emerging markets. 2025 return: 38.06%. Expense ratio: 0.07%. International diversification and dividend exposure US funds miss. What You Get Together: SCHD — income now. DGRO — income that grows over time. VYMI — global exposure and higher yields from international markets. The Starting Split: 50% SCHD. 30% DGRO. 20% VYMI. All three inside a Roth IRA — every dividend compounds tax free. Three funds. Full dividend coverage. Nothing complicated.
