But the part I think is especially interesting is what happens when we compare that income to a more traditional retirement strategy. Most people are taught to spend decades building a 60/40 stock-and-bond portfolio, accumulate as much money as possible, and then eventually rely on something similar to the 4% withdrawal rule in retirement. In other words, the portfolio itself isn’t necessarily designed to generate the income you need. Instead, you accumulate a large pile of assets and then begin systematically selling portions of those assets to fund your lifestyle while trying to avoid depleting the portfolio too quickly. Bitcoin income ETFs like BTCI and XBCI create a completely different model. These assets are specifically designed to generate substantial cash flow while still maintaining exposure to Bitcoin’s long-term appreciation potential.
