Ages 46-55 Retirement Strategy: Why I Invest Like I'm 38 (Tax Optimization)
If you're 46 to 55 (that's my age), I'm still aggressive. I'm not gonna lie - I invest like I'm 38, but that's okay. If you're not as aggressive as me, you have about 10 to 20 years until retirement, so you should be thinking very seriously about tax optimization. Continue maxing out 401k and Roth IRA as it makes sense from a tax strategy perspective. Consider Roth conversions - if you're in a lower tax bracket, convert traditional IRA or self-directed IRAs to Roth. Increase allocation into alternatives. Start shifting stock allocation toward dividend-paying stocks and income-generating assets. #retirementstrategy #rothconversions #taxoptimization
