Sponsored by Kevin Hoover -Our speaker for this meeting is John Lapp, owner of Duco Accounting. John will be sharing a bunch of great information pertaining to taxes and accounting. As real estate investors, many of us are not naturally good in these areas, and it can become a huge pain-point and limiting factor for us. This was a big burden for me personally for so many years, but has massively improved since I started working with John 2 years ago. When we have a pain-point like this, we can work on eliminating that pain by either getting educated on the topic or getting a professional on our team (preferably some combination of this) Here is your opportunity to do just that! John will be covering a lot of information, and will be sharing on three main topics: Business structure, accounting, and proper business techniques. New and sunsetting tax laws. The complexity of taxes and the importance of getting an accountant that lines up with your views. How multiple accountants will get different results while all creating a correct tax return. Unlike what some accountants believe, cost segregation is NOT an aggressive tax strategy but is actually the correct way of depreciating real estate. John is a husband, father, and business owner and has started multiple successful businesses. He got started in taxes in 2008 by signing up for an H&R Block tax course. He wanted to learn more about taxes and ended up getting hired as a part-time employee. He has since started his own business, and is a Certified Quickbooks Online and Desktop ProAdvisor.
