The Numbers Behind Our Early Retirement | Budgeting, Taxes, & Investments

Strategy GuidePortfolio Reviewyoutube

"How were you able to retire early?" We have been getting this question a lot, so we decided to make a video about it. In this video, we're sharing the strategy that helped us leave the 9-to-5 behind and begin our journey of retirement abroad. This isn't about getting rich overnight or finding a secret investment. It's about building a financial plan with a realistic budget, and creating a system that showed us we were ready. We walk through the approach we used to take our retirement savings, manage our investment portfolio, and create reliable passive income through dividend investing. We also share the retirement spreadsheet budgeting tool we developed to track our finances, estimate retirement income, and answer one of the biggest questions anyone planning early retirement asks: "Do we really have enough?" If you're interested in financial independence, the FIRE movement, or learning how to retire early without sacrificing the lifestyle you want, we hope our experience gives you practical ideas you can apply to your own journey. We wanted the freedom to travel, experience new cultures, and build a life centered around slow travel, full-time travel, and living abroad on our own terms. Retirement abroad is possible when you combine thoughtful retirement planning with disciplined saving, investing, realistic budgeting, and a clear understanding of long-term expenses. Having a clear retirement budget and understanding our withdrawal strategy gave us the confidence to move forward with a plan we trusted. Today, we're using that plan to explore the world as full-time travelers while living in affordable retirement destinations throughout Southeast Asia. If you're considering retiring overseas, becoming an expat, or comparing countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, understanding your finances is just as important as choosing the right destination. Knowing your cost of living abroad, creating a sustainable monthly budget, and building financial independence
